A Cool Show and an Evolution. . .
Acoustic Sundays started its third month today at Mr D’s Pub & Lounge in Yonkers. Three artists did sets on the Acoustic Sundays’ stage. Gus Amador was the featured artists and did a half hour set featuring some cool tunes from his recent CD, 2 Short of 12. He did a lively set, and at one point even got the crowd singing a bit.
We also had two other artists take advantage of the Open Mic, which is very cool! I wish we had more folks sign up and take the stage! The first of the two today was Pleasant Bud who did some cool guitar work and threw in a joke or two in with some neat songs. Last on was a dude from Tom O’Reilly’s BarFlies and another. He did a quick set but the tunes included a Van Morrison and an Eagles tune. How could you go wrong! I wishi I had written down his name! I thought I would be able to piece it together online.
So It was a cool show.
And next week we got Drew Torres , Boy Behind a Wall, Rockelle Cakes (Do You See The Dark), and Words On Parchment.
On May 18th we have the return of Brian Grosz, No Steve, and
T Jay plus perhaps some special guests!
And the 18th will be the last show-the last Acoustic Sunday. It is just hard to compete with beautifully sunny Sunday afternoons like todays, and it will only get harder as summer comes around. With that we are moving to Wednesday nights from 9:00 to 1:00.
Not only are we moving the time but we are going to acoustic and electric now. We are still at Mr. D’s Pub and Lounge and still with Featured Artists every week and an Open Mic. The happens Wednesday, June 4th.
See you at the last two Acoustic Sundays and then the new Wednesday night show. We need a name for it.
