Sunday Morning, Coffee and the Love Pirates
Lazy Sunday morning. Finishing my morning coffee, going through the NY Times and then at some point jumped over to Facebook. Specifically, NY Rocks. And there are the Love Pirates. Just cool to see them going at it still. I have seen them multiple times in NYC. At Ottos, Arlene’s, etc.
I remember checking them out back in like 2005. Dragged them up to White plains at one point. At the center of it has always been Gass Wild covering the vocals and guitar. Anyway, it is very cool to see them. Especially now. Just a cool vibe – just rock ‘n’ roll, which is so missing today. There simply is no vibe. Only in one’s dreams today. At least my sentiment at the moment.
Looking forward to the day, the night, when we can be in a crowded venue, never too big, but with a crowd and just rock out again. Just enjoy a bit of live music. Something so simple. So good.
And a nod must be given to Bicycle Joe who made the video possible. Do check out his YouTube page, BicycleJoe LoFiSoundAndVision, as he has other videos of other NYC bands and the like!
Interestingly, next up on Youtube was Cee Lo Green doing a Hall & Oates tune with Darryl Hall. Not typically on my playlist but this one grabbed me. Just was in the groove. It is also cool cause it was recorded half an hour away up in the northern part of Westchester; at Darryl’s House, which belongs to Darry Hall, and is up in Pawling. He routinely surprises with folks such as Cee Lo Green. Again, a place to check out when we are done with all of this. Assuming it is there.
