Starting the New Year Right!

New year. New day.

Still had my chocolate croissant and coffee this morning. I did pause, however, and ponder what I was listening to first. What was the first piece of music to start the day and the year? And today is a day for music.

Music and reading are the only thing on the agenda. As much as I need to finish 1969, this will probably be the only thing I write today.

Alright maybe Facebook. Sadly.

What to listen to? That was the question. How do I start the year?

It is a no brainer. For those who know me only from this site, it is obvious, and they would be right on this occasion.

I was since this morning thinking bout Bernie Torme’s Shadowland. But in the process of selecting the piece, it turns out that the first piece played this year was Torme’s Dublin Cowboy with that lovely Tormesque solo right at the beginning.
