Frustration and Naivete. . .Tours and Financing – Round 2! – August 9th, 2006
Back in March the Wild West announced that we were raising funds to bring Bernie Torme, and his new Band, Guy McCoy Torme, over from the UK for a US tour. The fund raising entailed a range of packages consisting of various Torme CDs, DVDs, bootlegs, and even a special meet and greet with the band. The idea was that we would look to the devoted fans to help make this happen. We were looking for ideally 100 such dedicated rockers at $100 a pop. If you do the math that means we are raising $10,000 for the tour. It is and it is not alot of money, depending on where you come from.
Our expectations, however, back in March and April, were overly optimistic. The exercise did provide enough for us to come back today, however, for what will be a second round of fund raising.
This time, the Wild West will have a proper business plan for the tour, and we will initiate a second round of fundraising, this time appealing to both fans and or investors who expect a return on investment. In addition to the business plan, the Wild West will be trying out a few other new tricks or at least some spiced up old tricks. All of which will be happening in the next few weeks. So stay tuned and we shall what we can do this time!
